Annual Training Objectives
The Goodwill Fire Company #1 requires all active firefighters to complete at minimum 50% of the annual training objectives. These objectives are:
1. Engine Company Operations- Deployment and Packing of Handlines
a. Deployment and use of all preconnected attack lines
b. Identification and proper use of all attack lines
c. Extending preconnected attack lines
d. Use of leader lines
e. Identification and proper use of all supply lines
f. Use of supply lines
g. Packing of all hose types on all apparatus
2. Engine Company Operations- Advancing Charged Attack Lines
a. Single firefighter hose line advancement
b. Tandem firefighter hose line advancement
c. Advancing charged attack lines, open bailed
d. Advancing charged attack line from floor-to-floor
3. Water Supply Operations- Tankers
a. Fill site operations
b. Dump site operations
c. Drafting
4. Water Supply Operations- Hydrants
a. Basic hydrant operations
b. Forward laying
c. Reverse laying
d. First and second arriving engine company responsibilities in terms of water supply in hydranted areas
e. First and second arriving engine company responsibilities in terms of water supply in non-hydranted areas
5. Truck Company Operations- Portable Ladders
a. Identification of all ground ladders
b. Identification of the parts of each ladder type
c. Use of all ground ladders
d. Raising and lowering of all ground ladders
e. Victim removal via ladders
6. Truck Company Operations- Search
a. Identification of tools utilized to search
b. Single firefighter hands-on search skills
c. Tandem firefighter hands-on search skills
d. Victim removal methods
e. Rope use to assist in victim removal
7. Truck Company Operations- Ventilation
a. Identification of saws, fans, and ventilation methods
b. Proper use of all ventilation equipment
c. Hands-on vertical ventilation scenario
d. Hands-on PPV and exhaust fan scenario
e. Hands-on horizontal ventilation scenario
8. Rapid Intervention Team Operations- Mayday and Firefighter Survival
a. Identification of proper use of a mayday call
